WHAT IS LOCAL HEALTH COUNCIL? It is a collegiate body, of a permanent and deliberative character, part of the health unit that has the power to make decisions, participate and collaborate effectively in the programs and actions that are developed in each health unit.

HOW IS THE LOCAL COUNCIL COMPOSED?
It is composed in an even form, between the three representative segments of the health area; 50% User, 25% Health worker 25%, Health service managers and providers.
HOW IS THE CHOICE OF SEGMENTS MADE? The representation of each segment must be chosen by election in a specific forum convened for that purpose. The person does not participate by himself, he must represent an entity or group.
WHAT IS A FORUM? It is an articulation of entities that aims to strengthen the interests of the group it represents (FUSUS- SUS Users Forum, FETS State Health Workers Forum). Representatives should discuss matters and be referred to the forum.
HOW DOES THE LOCAL COUNCIL WORK? After the election of representatives in each forum, the direction of the health center or district director, convokes the first meeting of the foundation of the Local Health Council, in which the Coordinator and the Executive Secretary must be chosen.
WHAT IS THE IMPORTANCE OF THE LOCAL COUNCIL IN THE DAY-DAY AT THE HEALTH CENTER? It is a space that allows a dialogue between the parties, enabling the recognition of the reality experienced by health workers, administrators, users and their relationship with the Unified Health System and the Municipal Network. Also provide the name inside the health center, where conflicts appear and must be worked on in the search for a common goal, which in this case is the improvement of Public Health.
ATTENTION: Being a representative on the Local Council does not mean being or replacing the board or having privileges.
WHAT IS THE ROLE OF THE LOCAL HEALTH COUNCIL?
1. Know the human, material and financial resources and programs developed at the health center, deciding the properties;

3. Propose measures to improve the organization and functioning of the health center;
4. Monitor and monitor the development of health actions and services;
5. Monitor, inspect the sanitation and environment policy;
6. Encourage community participation in the control, maintenance and development of health actions;
7. Create an ombudsman mechanism that allows the population to give their suggestions (ballot boxes, surprise boxes, etc.);
8. Examine proposals and complaints presented;
9. Monitor the elaboration of the health unit's work plan;
10. Take steps to provide permanent guidance to users about the services offered at the health unit.
